The board is excited to announce the creation of FIVE committees for 2004 - each one will be responsible for a specific area of contribution. If you cannot attend the Nov 29 meeting, or already know where you'd like to contribute, please consider signing up now. All volunteers will be contacted after the Nov 29th meeting to begin the committee efforts. The board would like to see a minimum of 5 people on each committee, to reduce the workload on any one individual. Committee Charters: 1. Common Area Development: This committee will continue to focus on the development of the pool, clubhouse & security gates. They will finalize a site plan for the pool/clubhouse area, prioritize projects and direct the construction process to finish out these facilities as improvement funds become available. The committee will also evaluate & make recommendations on proposals for construction on other common areas (including additional pool plans). Once approved, this committee shall be responsible to implement the ongoing common area improvement plan. 2. Architectural Review: This committee will be responsible to implement the "Architectural Rules" as adopted by the Association and will insure that all construction is consistent with the standards of the community. They will review architectural drawings and work with owners in the building process to insure a smooth review and approval process. This committee is also charged with the responsibility to collect "lessons learned" from past construction and share them with those owners who may benefit from such information. For instructions on submitting building plans, see the "Architectural" page. 3. Trusts & Membership: This committee will work with individual owners and Danny Brown to make the trust issuance process as easy as possible. This committee will also be in charge of acquiring "new members" to the Association. Committee will develop a "welcome aboard" process for all new members. Committee will assist the board in implementing the "Civility Rules" as adopted by the Association. They will also work with the board Treasurer to develop & review budgets and resolve any current member concerns regarding their Association accounts. 4. Services: This committee is in charge of providing the basic services of the Association - including water delivery, trash removal, security, beach cleanup, common area maintenance and any other services as approved by the board. Work will include providing direction to the vendor contracted by the Association to provide services. In addition, this committee will implement a feedback process for members to receive written notifications on problems as they occur related to their properties. 5. Social & Communications: This committee is responsible for planning all community social events. In addition, the committee will write and distribute, at a minimum, 4 Association newsletters during the year to continue to develop the Playa La Jolla Community. |
